FAQ for travelling abroad for eye surgery

  • We recommend you allow at least 3 days for LASIK and 5 days for Lens Replacement.

  • Payment is made in full to the clinic on the day of the operation in either cash (Euros) or credit card.

  • We encourage our customers to give us as much notice as possible with the minimum requirement being 4 weeks.

  • We recommend you book as soon as you have decided to go ahead with the operation. The suggested time is at least 4 to 6 weeks before the day of the operation

  • You are free to make your own arrangements for accommodation or anything else you may like. We can of course help you with suggested hotels at our Travel page, so just let us know on your communication!

  • Our recommended option is to use the Athens Metro. You can jump on at the airport and jump off at Ampelokipoi station, which is roughly a 3-5 minute walk to the clinic and most hotels. One-way ticket from the Airport to the centre of Athens is only €8, but depending on what you want to do during your visit, alternative ticket options might be better suited for you. Please have a look at the below websites to find more information on how to move around in Athens using it’s excellent public transportation options!

  • The American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO), the leading organisation in eye care globally, has described LASIK the safest and most successful elective operation. It has the highest satisfaction rate across all operations at 98% and over 90% of all patients achieve a 20/20 vision.
